Honorable Mention: Kung Fu Tea

I know that all the restaurants featured on the blog have mostly been local restaurants or at the very least, native to the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area. However, I don’t think I could ever pass up the chance to talk about how much I love Kung Fu Tea.

I’m going to be honest – I used to be completely apathetic about bubble tea. Part of the reason why I disliked it so much was because it was so popular among my friends and I never really understood it until I got into Kung Fu Tea and discovered their honey milk tea. There is something about how the almost saccharine sweet milk tea is balanced by the soft and chewy tapioca pearls that just works.

Aside from the delicious bubble tea, it also serves yogurt drinks and espressos. The stores are always so brightly decorated and always comes with board games and card games you could use with your friends –  no matter what location you’re in.

There’s about about 2 locations opened in the Baltimore area – with a third one opening up soon in White Marsh. Currently, Kung Fu Tea has locations in US, Canada, and Australia. The company began around 2009 and was founded by four friends who were looking for that authentic bubble tea experience they had when they were kids in Taiwan.
